Let’s talk about foundation. More specifically, the new(ish) Make Up For Ever stick foundation: It’s thick, it’s creamy, its fab-u-lous. I’ve read a lot of complaints about this being sheer to medium coverage, and I’m here to tell you that (using the Morphe M439) it’s medium-full coverage. I’ve had some texture issues with my skin ( I have dry skin and my diet’s not the best) these last few months and this foundation has been a god-send. I have noticed that it tends to slip right off my skin – easy fix using a good primer (I recommend Nivea Men’s Aftershave Balm in Sensitive – more on that in a future post). I’ve used several bottles of MUFE’s HD Foundation, the Ultra HD, and Face & Body. This one has sky rocketed to the top of the list, followed closely by Face & Body (but that one’s for clear skinned gals, and, seeing as how I enjoy my dairy, carbs, …wine… it’s medium-full coverage foundations full speed ahead for me!)
As for the texture and look/feel of the foundation: If you’ve never used a stick foundation before, the closest thing I can compare this too would be a stick of spreadable butter. It goes on smooth and silky, 2 stripes on both cheeks seems to blend out to the perfect amount of coverage for me. Obviously, you can adjust that to your preference -anywhere from light coverage to supercake. The brush you choose to blend with will affect the coverage as well; I used the Real Techniques buffing brush and it was light-medium coverage. With my Morphe M439, however, it goes on medium – full coverage. The finish is a beautiful matte, and texture is smooth, not sticky at all (which is my biggest complaint about the Face & Body foundation because I HATE setting my face with powder).
