Some of the products are already HGs in my collection and were purchased as replacements or backups, but most I’ve never tried.
The Oldies:
The beauty blender is a staple. I refuse to do my makeup without a sponge of SOME sort, and the beauty blender happens to be my favorite. I don’t like the Real Techniques sponge, and I’m over Morphe’s inconsistency. I’m also over the pink beauty blender (I dont like my sponges to bleed). I decided to skip the black one as well, as people have noted that mold is basically camouflaged on it o.o Oh and I picked up the ‘blender cleanser pro’ – basically a ginormous version of the usual cleanser. I’ve tried it all folks: baby shampoo, baby oil, dish soap, morphe brush cleanser… nothing cleans my sponges like this stuff right here.
The Drunk Elephant cleanser is another staple – love this cleanser. Its got a dollop of glycerin in there, and thats always a product I want in my routine (can you sayyy dry skin?!) Its got almost a jelly like consistency but is totally clear – I use it with my Foreo Luna and its fantastic.
Hourglass Veil Translucent Setting Powder is the third and last repurchase in the pile. I’ve never used so much of a setting powder before – I’m about 70% through my first one, and since its $$$$, I decided theres no better time to get a backup. LOVE THIS STUFF. hey you – if you have dry skin that gets cakey easily, get this, immediately.
New Stuff:
Natasha Denona Palettes: aka the ultimate holy grail eyeshadow
I introduced myself to Natasha Denona with the Gold Palette, which totally blew my mind, and then the packaging on this + the near perfect Sephora rating (does that EVER happen?) sold me. Oh and fun fact: my childhood nickname was biba, so this was kind of… perfect? I mean the universe basically told me to buy this.
The Beautiful Tatcha Silk Canvas Primer
Everyone and their mothers has been raving about this stuff, and I’m extremely late on jumping on this bandwagon, but HERE I AM, DAMMIT. haven’t tried it yet – will update when I do. I gotta tell you though, I’ve recently stopped using primer altogether and I’ve been perfectly fine without it. This better blow my freakin socks right off.
Living Proof Whipped Glaze: the ultimate purple shampoo substitute?
OH I’m especially excited to use this baby. I’ve been going blonder and blonder… seems my entire life? LOL, but seriously I’ve recently made the transition from balayage to a rooty highlight (what the eff is the difference, you say?! …. MORE BLONDE) and I sometimes am too lazy to use my purple shampoo, so this will be a perfect go between!
The Glow Recipe: Pineapple Serum
Another one everyone has been raving about lately… although not a single person has had a positive opinion of the smell. I haven’t used it yet, but out of the bottle it smells like fresh pineapple juice, and I’m aalllll about that. Also Glow Recipe is having an amazing year, JS.
Pat McGrath does it again: FetishEyes Mascara
This is another hyped up baby. Ever since Lilly Lashes ruined falsies for me … (came mismatched, were suuuuper itchy, super heavy, more in depth review maybe later but um, I think you get the gist …) I’ve been obsessed with finding ways to make it look like I’m wearing falsies without the falsies. I shall be pairing this baby with the Marc Jacobs Mascara Primer and I expect to be blown awayyyyy…
A few other things I grabbed:
Fenty Cheek Sculpting Bronzer Brush: I currently have, use, and love the Marc Jacobs bronzer brush but it is SO FREAKING HUGE, and I felt I needed a more precise one for contour, and also… my face is kinda small, so there’s that.
Anastasia #12 brow brush – I’m still pretty old school in that I like to use the dip brow pomade instead of a pencil, and a good angled brush is a MUST for that. I actually bought one about a year ago and…. a gremlin must have popped up and stolen it because I’ve seen no trace of it in months.
Farmacy Green Clean cleansing balm – I was soooo excited to use this. I was told to use this on dry skin, wash it off, then follow with a cleanser. the texture is very balmy, and… I basically drooled at it in the store, so I bought the big ass size off the bat. In depth review to come VERY SHORTLY, but here’s a quick synopsis: IM OBSESSED.
beautyblender Power Puff – for powder touch ups on the go. ‘Cause I’m not about bringing beauty blenders with me to work or the gym, etc… this should be perfect. I’ll update later.
Tom Ford Noir Pour Femme – think Black Orchid but slightly less dark, a touch more tarte berry – personally I think its a sour cherry vibe, and I am absolutely in love with it and now thinking of getting the 1.7oz but I have SO MUCH perfume that I cant possibly justify it… can I?
Individual reviews of the above to come… get excited.
Stay tuned, stay positive… Alana <3
